Stuck for ideas to entertain the whole family over Easter? Read our top picks for creative activities and days out to put in your diary.

Pavilion Foods

Cookery workshops and an Easter Dog Parade in Henley

Henley’s new deli and cookery school Pavilion is on a mission to inspire us all in the kitchen, with a variety of Easter holiday workshops taking place in its open kitchen. Children can learn to ice like a pro with Jo Deacon from BKRY’s easter biscuit decorating classes, or try their hands at a Pizza Masterclass. They’re also running ‘off to uni’ cookery classes for teens and up to learn essential cooking skills.

Meanwhile, The Cheese Shed at Nettlebed Creamery is hosting an Easter Pet Parade for dogs to show off their Easter finery (there’s a human Easter bonnet competition too!). There's also a separate Easter craft activities session for children, with all proceeds going to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

Family-friendly museums and music in Oxford

The Story Museum

We love a day trip to Oxford, and the Story Museum always inspires with its imaginative shows and workshops, such as the upcoming Story Explorers sessions. If you’ve got the energy for more culture, check out the Ashmolean’s blockbuster Pissarro exhibition. While you’re there, take a peak at the beautifully delicate woodcuts in printmaker Naoko Matsubara's In Praise of Hands show. Both museums are also hosting special events for Oxford Folk Weekend, with music events and workshops taking places across the city.

A Festival of Games in London

Somerset House

A day out in London never fails to deliver creative inspo for both children and adults. Anyone with gaming-mad children should check out Somerset House's Now Play This 2022 festival, dedicated to experimental gaming and play. Visitors can play games, deep dive into experimental gaming design and take part in workshops and activities.

A Family Arts Festival in Maidenhead

Norden Farm’s Family Quest Fest is back IRL, having been forced online for the past two years. This fabulous celebration of all things creative offers theatre shows, arts activities, drama workshops and more for kids of all ages. The Explore Day on April 15 is a day crammed full of activities, from Cartoon Creations to Digital Animation; Steel Pan Band to Folk Dance Remixed; Circus Skills to Magic; and DJ for the Day to trying the Ukulele.

Creative workshops in Caversham

The Art Sanctuary from Made by Tamalia in Caversham has lots of creative events for the holiday - from Spring wreath workshops and Blown Egg decorating for all ages, to childrens’ Easter craft sessions. The space also hosts mindful creative retreat days, which combine creative activities, lunch, smoothies and cake.. for when you need that all-important day off!
